spotted in the NUM shop window at CityLink (click for bigger picture):

in case it can't be seen clearly, the paper above the jersey reads "kuku team of the year 07/08". wahahaha! i just simply had to take a photo of it :D

anws i was going to type out which team i support for Euro (since England is sadly out of the picture), but then i decided not to, cos it's always jinxed remember?? haha.

was watching past AI videos on youtube of David Archuleta performing (i didn't catch the show on TV until it was like Top 5) and i SO LOVE HIS VOICE!! omg.

this is one of my faves. Shop Around :)

and this too! Smoky Mountain Memories.

still have a lot more actually, but i reckon nobody will really go click and watch them except me, so... hahaha! he's damn cute!! i am SUCH a paedophile :p hehhh.

//EDIT: bf calls him David Tarantula! hahaha. i think he's jealous :D

our pigging out staple :) we're boring like that! hehehe :p what's not to love about hokkien mee and sambal stingray?

btw the hokkien mee stall at Makansutra has changed owners or something! the hokkien mee is not as nice now :( (i think the banana leaf makes most of the difference HAHA.)

am happy with my results! hard work pays off after all :) stress is good. heh. i'm so gonna take back these three words when it's time to mug for my exams next semester. lol.

anws i've been talking to this postgrad in my lab who's doing his PhD now and regretting it (long story), and the conversations got me thinking about the issue on furthering my studies. i'm still not sure yet, but maybe i'll do Masters and see how from there. but i'm still really blur about the whole furthering studies thing, so i guess i'll have to wait till i start my FYP and yup, decide from there.

was just reading jay's blog, and i really admire you man! hahaha. you think so far and have got almost everything planned out! ha.

next week is my last week of internship! lol. i barely just started. yep, a month really passes by in a flash. i don't know if i'm happy or sad that my internship is ending (funny right, i always dread something so much and then it turns out fine in the end). but i guess i'm a little more to the happy side than sad :)

Southern Ridges (started from HortPark then to Kent Ridge and back to HortPark then to Telok Blangah Hill Park, then to Mt Faber and ended at Vivo!):

it screams HOTHOTHOT in every picture haha. should have gone there in the evening like ql!

ahpooi pictures after a long hamster hiatus:

first picture shows her favourite sleeping position: on top of the wheel with her hind legs sticking out of the cage.

saw this at Raffles MRT station and we went up and down the escalator like mad people a total of 3 times (so means it was 6 trips on the escalator) just to get a nice shot. and it's STILL not nice. hahaha!

i saw fireworks yesterday! fireworks make me happy :)

伍家辉 - 虽然我愿意

(in TJ!! woot. how i miss the mud green uniform days. haha.)

请让我靠近你轻轻对你说
别让我每个夜为你受折磨
是多么不容易才默默放手
为了我就当作这次为了我
别让我因为你被回忆折磨
而空气凝结了我们的脸孔
我别无选择

Chorus:

so sad :(( fave song of the moment! (apart from the 2 whole James Blunt albums hahaha)

tonight's a HUGE night for soccer fans :) Champions League final between Man U and Chelsea!! hmmm i can't openly say which team i support cos, on one hand it's the bf and on the other it's sab (and i'll get severely beaten up if i go either way, cannot under-estimate what soccer fans can do for their team). hehheh.

i'm having wednesday blues. hehhhh. lalala...

i've got pictures from monday's nature escapade to post, but as expected, i can't!! super pissed off!! roarrr. haha public holidays are meant for us to relax and sleep in, but bf and i woke up bright and early at 6.30 am (yes you didn't see wrongly) to walk the Southern Ridges! haha fun :) although it was damn HOT and the trails were PACKED with people and screaming kids (what to expect, public holiday mah).

i'm so supporting David Archuleta over David Cook for american idol!

meanwhile here's some pictures of my favourite animal in the world :)) wombats!!

hahaha how random.

blogger finally allowed me to post pictures!

James Blunt's playing the guitar in all the pictures we took cos whenever he was at the piano i was taking videos! hahaha.

lazy to post my own vids cos the file size is super big so i've decided to nick some off youtube :)

Goodbye my Lover (listen to the audience's singing towards the end, resonating throughout the stadium :) i love it!! haha gives me goosebumps)

One of the Brightest Stars (if only we were this close!!)

No Bravery (i teared a little during this song too. omg why am i telling everyone what a crybaby i am heh. it's about his experience in the army when he was part of the peacekeeping forces in Kosovo)

Carry You Home

Same Mistake

Cos I Love You (where he gets high and jumps off the stage)

You're Beautiful is so passé so i'm not pasting it! heh.

here's him singing Goodbye my Lover again. it's like my favourite James Blunt song :))

klohmts :D hahaha. it looks like beehoon on the plate! lol.. it's actually melted chocolate + banana remnants + melted wax. ack.

the Today newspaper: "We've attended enough concerts to realize that there are very few people who can take intimate songs and transmit them across a cavern the size of the Singapore Indoor Stadium. But British singer-songwriter James Blunt would be one of them.... Blunt's performance was emotional enough - you can't deliver that kind of show without digging deep - but there was something else about the man that made you want to listen to everything he said."

:)) as you can probably tell, i'm still very psyched up about the concert hehh.

blogger is getting damn annoying cos i can't post pictures and videos no matter how many times i try! it's really getting on my nerves.

maybe i should jump ship to wordpress like everyone else hahaha. but i'm lazy to do so!

AND youtube is getting on my nerves as well cos it's freakin SLOW!! roar. i think it's the damn internet connection but my dad refuses to fix it!

YAY to the long weekend! you never really appreciate long weekends till you start working. or in my case, interning. lol.

you know how they say lab classes in school are crap cos you don't get anything out of it (even after, what, 3 years)? it's really true. i think i've learned as much lab work, if not more, in this week alone as compared to an entire semester in NUS.

in four days (not five, cos monday was mostly admin matters and a boring lab safety course), i've learned how to make my own buffer solutions and make my own gel (i was damn afraid that the agarose will explode in the microwave oven lol), developed gel photos in the darkroom (which i hate to do cos the bf kindly reminded me about the darkroom scene in Shutter), used an ultra-centrifuge which is damn HUGE (a bit bigger than a washing machine) and goes 5000 rounds per min, did my own Western Blot, miniprep and bacteria transformations, handled liquid nitrogen, did part of an experiment in the cold room which is freaking 4 degrees C (i think i nearly got frostbite and my nose was numb), and i can't remember what else. oh ya, i did some mundane chores like refilling pipette tip containers and sending them for autoclaving, refilling the gigantic jug of 70% ethanol which is half the size of me, and cutting filter paper and PVDF membranes. haha.

so after a week, i've come to a conclusion that i like lab work :) it's fun, and i get a sense of accomplishment when everything goes smoothly and i obtain, say, a nice gel photo with distinct bands at the end of it.

Biopolis is like a world on its own. it has cafes and restaurants and 7-11, and there's a launderette too (which is filled with lab coats which i find really amusing). hahaha. and i feel really small whenever i'm having lunch at the foodcourt cos everyone around me looks really smart and intelligent and won't give a hoot about a smelly intern like me.

this is very no-link, but i wanna go Chek Jawa! :)) and i wanna go on the exciting new trek from Vivo to west coast park (or something liddat). i'm in need of some nature!!

i actually teared during Goodbye my Lover. wahaha. beautiful beautiful beautiful :)

James Blunt's really good at engaging the audience :) and he's funny too! wahahaha. aiya he rocks la :)) heh.

i think the bf got quite a bit of shock cos he has never seen me scream so much before HAHA.

omgomgomg. wheeee!!!

85 bucks well spent :)))) and the seats were pretty good after all! hahaha. omg i'm highhhhhh!!

i've had so much to blog about my first 2 days of internship but the concert over-rode everything wahahaha i'm HIGH!!

hahaha both of us came from internship and while bf was in shirt and pants, i was in jeans, covered shoes and with tied hair. what a huge contrast HEH.

LALALALA!! i so can't sleep!

it feels gooooooood to wake up naturally and not have to wake up to the radio alarm/alarm clock/hp alarm :))

my exams ended yesterday, and i've never felt sooo relieved. i think undergrad exams have really taken a toll on me. i'm like getting progressively more stressed up each sem, which SUCKS big time. tell me why i've decided to continue this agony for another year :( oh wells, it's for the greater good. HAHA. erm. hmmmm.

internship starts next monday. once again, tell me whyyyy i applied for it. it's not gonna be much of a use unless i really go into research in the future (which means i'll have to further my studies etc etc and i'll probably DIE of stress, seeing how stressed i am already each sem). then again, right now i doubt i wanna go into research :S (the emphasis is 'right now' haha. i change my mind every few weeks.)

OMG. life of a sad undergraduate who is clueless about who she wants to become.

yes i know this issue comes up like every few months on my blog, but ya, this is like the major worry of my life right now.

oh well, i shall not think so much and enjoy the next 3 days as much as i can before i have to wake up to the radio alarm again (this time at the ungodly hour of 6.30 am EVERYDAY for a month :S).

haha you must be thinking, ALAMAK a month only whaaat. ya lor, a month only whaaat :) it'll pass by in a flash.

AND i have James Blunt on tuesday to look forward to :))

AND i'm kinda looking forward to my FYP actually, as i found out just yesterday after my paper that i know one of the other 2 students under my prof!

haha i've managed to end my blog entry on a positive note, which is good :)

double/triple date tomorrow and meeting up with the girls on saturday. whee!

---

It was right then that I started thinking about Thomas Jefferson on the Declaration of Independence and the part about our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And I remember thinking how did he know to put the pursuit part in there? That maybe happiness is something that we can only pursue and maybe we can actually never have it. No matter what. How did he know that?

You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period.
