celebrated ohm's and ql's 21st on monday at Essential Brew :)
the food was really good, except for the damn small portions they served. haha. the rice that came with our dishes was jasmine-flavoured and really sweet. unique! ha.. we wound up at the holland v food centre after that for dessert. whee!

today's lab was sucky. but if you think about it, it was actually quite hilarious. hahaha. our bench's agarose gel broke when we were transferring it from the electrodes to the UV transilluminator thingy.. and our TA tried to piece it together bit by bit, but to no avail. there goes our RNA samples!! lol. but luckily we still managed to see the two important bands on the gel la. haha. and we were one of the last benches to leave :(
i think lab is pretty fun, save for the doing of lab reports after that :S
projects and tests are upon us sooner than expected!! sian. someone switch me back to studying mode please!
i'm eating quite alot these days. i get like, damn hungry easily. sighhh good or bad?? haha.
gtg watch the last episode of yan1 zi1 shui3 fen3 now! exciting!

today i took my dad out for a drive (or rather, he asked me to drive him cos he wanted to see how i fare), and while we were on the road, he suddenly turned to me and smiled. i was like, "hmm?" and he said, "you were just a little girl.. but now you're actually driving.. driving me."
and then i realized how proud he was.. of his daughter :) not because i can drive, but because of the person i've become.
the joy, of growing up.
i love you dardy :) your little girl's all grown up.

I PASSED MY DRIVING!!! whoohoo!! wheeeeeeee!! happiness :)))
but i think i was damn lucky to get a nice tester whom i assume was in a particularly good mood yesterday. so yayyy. haha yeah you need 70% luck and 30% skill to pass driving, seriously.
it was a pretty close shave actually. cos i really thought i was going to fail after stupidly making a left turn without making sure there were no incoming cars, and as expected, i kena horned damn loudly by this speeding incoming car. damn scary okie. this cost me 8 frickin demerit points. i accumulated a total of 16 points in the end, with the remaining 8 points being brainless things like forgetting to signal :S i'm so dumb right! lol.
oh no when everyone sees this, no one's gonna dare sit in my car in future :(((
but still, damn exciting!! :D now i need intense driving tuition from my dad! wahahaha.
THAT aside, lab reports are back to haunt me after one full year :'( ihateihateihate. how to squeeze so many things into 2 pages double spacing?? madness.

happy happy 21st birthday...
...to onghuimin the woman who is forever busy over hall stuff and always doesn't show up during gatherings, but i love you all the same :))) i miss the times we had and the silly silly things we used to do :) i'm glad we still talk and meet up occasionally but stop being so busy!!! wahaha. here's to 4 years of friendship and counting (till we're old and married and with kids)! :) -hughug-

and so school has started. it's not even the end of the first week and i'm dreading this sem already :S
core modules suck, lab's gonna be tough (and i hope i get a good lab partner sighhh -crosses fingers-), engine's interesting BUT future presentations in front of 90 people are NOT gonna be interesting. and i realise i don't have an 'easy' module this sem. for the past 2 sems i always had EL to fall back on, but this sem? nahhh.
other than academic-related issues (arghness), it's nice to see everyone again :) lectures are fun cos of the bunch of people with me. they're the ones who're gonna keep me sane throughout this semester! haha :) and it's nice talking to sab and shan about... things. hahaha.
i'm still in a damn holiday mood. and i can't stop watching tv! hope this changes in the weeks to come! lol.
on a totally unrelated note, i love the toilets in jurong point!! hahaha.
on an even more unrelated note, i quite like this photo! hehe.

happy early 21st birthday wq!!
first 21st birthday party of the year :) it's nice to see everyone again! HILARIOUS moments, but shall not elaborate on such a public blog. heh. please refer to -relevant- places for more information. hurhurhur. and i brought a balloon home. wahaha! talk about growing up.
two zero zero seven, the year we're all turning 21. it feels so surreal; one moment we're all school kids donning uniforms, in a blink we're approaching adulthood and facing the future and... life, right smack in our faces.
i dunno if i should embrace the thought of turning 21, or lament on how time's flying too fast. i feel... old.
but heck. i just turned 20 less than a month ago!! haha.
and yes, school's starting tmr. rawrrr.

Death Note: The Last Name is gooooood! for a person who hardly watches asian movies, when she says it's good, it's probably really good. haha! all the twists in the show were damn interesting, but really confusing to me at some points :S lol. the bf had to explain bit by bit after the show for me to piece everything together. and yeah, to echo BOTH my brother and Mr. Fridge, "the battle of wits" between the 2 leads is what makes the movie so intriguing :)
so now i need the Deathnote 1 vcd/the Deathnote comics/someone to tell me the whole story of Deathnote 1. hahaha.
my fave character. hurhur.
and btw, we met ohmy and her stan! wahaha. yayness finally got to see her darling :p

went to the zoo! hahaha. triple date once again! fun :) we were damn lucky.. nice cool weather throughout the day, and it only rained when we were about to leave. mad right, whole day go zoo. lol. anws Inuka my dear polar bear is leaving for colder countries once his mum dies, so it's fitting to visit them one last time huh :) i'll miss the polar bears!
on a more depressinggggg note, minimum bid's damn high now for forensic!! stress stress stress. and i need to save up points to bid for arts gem next sem! stress!

Happy 2007 everyone!! :)
last night was new year's eve party at aunty yan ling's house, followed by fireworks at the esplanade with the bf, the brother and the gf. hahaha. we parked at kallang and walked all the way to Sheares Bridge. i swear i nearly died. the going there was actually okay cos of the anticipation of countdown and all, but the going back to the car was a total KILLER. we were all tired and hungry and thirsty to the max. lol. first meal of 2007: McNuggets meal at 1am! lol.
the fireworks were not very nice leh :( maybe cos the ones during the fireworks festival these 2 years were much nicer. but it was my first time looking at fireworks on the bridge so it was fun :) for once there were plenty of space to stretch and walk about and nice cool wind. haha! and the reflection of the fireworks on the CBD buildings were really pretty :)
wahhh very long never write account on my blog already. haha!
the weather's so HOT! it's funny how i complain about the rain all the time, and now it's sunny, i complain again. humans are never contented. ha.
byebye 2006! minor hiccups along the way, but it was no doubt a good year :) friends lost, friends found, many new things learnt, much happiness, much much love.
so yeah, the new year. i hope it'll be a wonderful year for all of us (if you ignore the 6-hour lab on wednesdays for LS peeps for this sem :S)!
yayness another bout of Feeding Frenzy with bao and watching taped movies later! nua-ing at home on new year's day. what's not to love :D
