anws i heart Amazing Race!! :)) i never fail to become a pathetic flop welling up with tears whenever i watch the finale, season after season after season. hahaha. damn touching la, the stories of love and friendship and kinship and rekindling family ties and what-not. i guess that's why the show has so much appeal throughout the world. we all need some love, in some way or another.
and it's a huge plus when your favourite team comes in first :D

okie i think it's time for a BIG FAT update. ha.
wanted to talk about the last week of the wondrous holidays but the excitement has worn off already. lol! in short, it was pigging out, shopping, more pigging out, some butt-aching cycling (whee!), and more pigging out. WAHAHA. i was damn sad when school started can. (i'm still damn sad, by the way.)

it's gonna be a pretty tough sem ahead. i don't know why, but i always happen to take up really heavy core modules. which totally sucks. but at least they're interesting. Immuno is FRICKIN HEAVY AND CHEEM LAA OMG. i was already half-dazed and having a headache after the first lecture.
Ecology will be fun cos it's field trips galore! almost the whole OG is taking it :) whee! ringers re-united. and yes, arts gem like FINALLY. haha. i can finally heave a sigh of relief cos i've fulfilled those stupid requirements at long last. and i'm SO looking forward to Forensics :D

today we had the first Immuno lab and we had to cut up mice. i was pretty excited before the lab cos well, i've never done mice work before. but the dead mouse on the plate in front of me looked so much like a thin (and white and with-a-tail) version of Ah Pooi that i was damn traumatized and just stoned there for like 3 minutes, before snapping back and doing what i had to do. my 2 lab partners were already busy pinning the mouse on the plate and pouring ethanol on its abdomen.
now i'm seriously pondering whether i'm really cut out for a career in the Life Sciences.
but anws, Pharmaco this sem also requires mice work and those who want to handle the mice have to take a tetanus jab, cos the mice'll be alive, not like those in Immuno prac. scaryyy. the guys are exempted though cos they already had the vaccination in NS.
oh! i leant something during Japanese Studies today. the term 'Jap' is actually a derogatory and racist term for 'Japanese' used by Westerners; it's not simply just a short form. so yup, cannot say "i want to eat Jap food at arts canteen!"; must say "i want to eat Japanese food at arts canteen!" hurhur.

have been reading everyone's goodbye-2007-hallo-2008 blog entries, and it led me to think about my 2007. it was a pretty good year i think :)
it was the year of 21st birthdays, seeing everyone grow up, knowing very well that life won't be quite the same anymore. it was the year i passed my driving; nerve-wrecking nightmare and i'm glad it's over. (17 more days to byebye-probation-plate but i guess it won't be taken down any time soon haha.) it was the year i grew much closer to the Life Science gang. it was the year i caught Phantom of the Opera which i totally loved. it was the year i fell in love with Sydney, the bustling city and the peaceful outskirts all at once. it was the year i climbed the Harbour Bridge, which left me in nothing but awe. it was the year my grandpa got hospitalized, but it's really heartening to see him up and about now. it was the year i went back to my alma mater; bringing back from there loads of photos and bouts of nostalgia and beautiful memories. it was the year i became crazier over soccer. it was the year our relationship became stronger. it was the year full of stress (complete with insomnia and heart palpitations) when it came to school stuff but everything fell nicely into place at the end. it was the year i celebrated my birthday surrounded by people i love. it was i think the happiest day of my 2007 :) it's times like these that make me go all emo and really grateful that i have all these people around me.
all in all, it was a good year, a year of plain simple joy living day by day, and much much love. and i hope 2008 will bring lots of happiness as well.
