Joakim's out. like, finally!!
yayyy playing badminton tomorrow cos i've got a 4 hour break in between lessons (not counting stats tutorial cos according to sab it's only half an hour). haven't played badminton exercised for like damn long. haha. bleh my resolution of jogging once a week kinda fell through. hehhh cos i'm plain lazy. :S oops to that!
sometimes i feel like i'm neither here nor there. it's quite tiring. and it's kinda sad too. oh well.
and hehheh shoot me! cos i thought Paul's rendition of Back at One last night was really nice, contrary to what the judges said. wahaha. i think i loved it partly because the song's one of my all-time favourite love songs. :)
It's undeniable... that we should be together...
It's unbelievable how I used to say that I'd fall never
The basis you need to know, if you don't know just how I feel,
Then let me show you now that I'm for real...
If all things in time, time will reveal...
Yeah...
One... you're like a dream come true...
Two... just wanna be with you...
Three... girl it's plain to see... that your the only one for me...
Four... repeat steps one through three...
Five... make you fall in love with me...
If ever I believe my work is done... then I start Back at One
So Incredible... the way things work themselves out...
And all emotional, once you know what it's all about babe...
And undesirable... for us to be apart...
Never would of made it very far...
Cause you know that you got the keys to my heart
Cause...
One... you're like a dream come true
Two... just wanna be with you
Three... girl it's plain to see... that your the only one for me
Four.. .repeat steps one through three
Five... make you fall in love with me
If ever I believe my work is done... then I start Back at One.....
Say farewell to the dark night... I see the coming of the sun...
I feel like a little child... whose life has just begun...
You came and breathed new life
Into this lonely heart of mine...
You threw out the life line... just in the Nick of Time.....
One... you're like a dream come true
Two... just wanna be with you
Three... girl it's plain to see... that your the only one for me... girl and...
Four... repeat steps one through three
Five... make you fall in love with me
If ever I believe my work is done... then I start Back at One.

at this point in time i'm happy to say i'm contented with my life, the tangible/intangible things i have, and what i've achieved. and that is all that matters. people yearn for more, and when they get what they want, they yearn for even more. and then inevitably they compare. i'm guilty of that too sometimes. it's never ever ending. but then i stop and wonder, what exactly is it for? i've got a wonderful life, a loving family, someone who loves me for who i am, and friends that i can count on. i mean, hey what more can i ask?
let's all be content with the way things are. as cliche as it sounds, life's too short to be angry/sad/___ (insert negative emotion). just stop for awhile and smell the roses. and live for the moment. live for yourself. :)

went pass tj during driving yesterday.. and as i stopped at the pedestrian crossing, looking at the students clad in green walking across the road, it felt like just a short while ago i was one of them, walking to Bedok interchange after school with ohm and kl.. i miss tj a goddamn lot. :( breakfast set after mass pe. rushing back from swimming to attend bio tutorial. lecture notes with huge amounts of vandalism. econs droppies. playing stupid games at our favourite spot in the library. singing damn loudly like nothing mattered. eye candies. those two years was one of the happiest times of my life.
:))) heartheartheart to all of you!
and on a totally different note, i was listening to Shan Wee on 987 a few nights ago, and he was OPENLY flirting with a listener on air :S was totally grossed out.

i totally didn't know Spotlight at Tampines isn't there anymore!!! :(
and i saw calculator boy at Eunos today! heh he still looks the same (just that he didn't have a calculator in his hand).
and stupid IVLE is frickin slow at night. shall print my notes tomorrow morning.
and my mum has started calling my ben bears 'ben bears' too. wahaha.
and i'm happy. :) yayyy. and i'm (finally) not sick already.
Augustana's Boston :) video's blur, but the voice is there :) loves the lyrics!
In the light of the sun, is there anyone? Oh it has begun...
Oh dear you look so lost, eyes are red and tears are shed,
This world you must've crossed... you said...
You don't know me, you don't even care,
You said
You don't know me, you don't wear my chains...
Essential yet appealed, carry all your thoughts across
An open field,
When flowers gaze at you... they're not the only ones who cry
When they see you
You said...
You don't know me, you don't even care,
You said
You don't know me, you don't wear my chains...
She said I think I'll go to Boston...
I think I'll start a new life,
I think I'll start it over, where no one knows my name,
I'll get out of California, I'm tired of the weather,
I think I'll get a lover and fly em out to Spain...
I think I'll go to Boston,
I think that I'm just tired
I think I need a new town, to leave this all behind...
I think I need a sunrise, I'm tired of the sunset,
I hear it's nice in the Summer, some snow would be nice...
Boston... where no one knows my name...

and so the first week of school ended. biostats and bioinformatics's boringggg :( cell bio's fine cos the lecturer's good :) EL2101 seems fun! wanni, the lecturer was ok leh! hee. and omg we actually had to complete this worksheet during lecture to see how much we've learnt from EL1101E :S haven't attended SSA2215 yet cos the lecturer was on medical leave. pretty much gonna be a slack semester (i hope) cos there's no lab (only computer lab which is so... blah) and i have wednesdays free. yayness. yeah i know arts and business people have like 3-day weeks almost every sem, but it's very hard for science students to have even a 4-day week ok! lol.
things don't go our way all the time.. i have two choices. to mope around and feel sorry for myself; or to see the glass as half full. i've decided to embrace what i have, because i know i'm lucky. and be happy, because i know that's what i should be. i'm grateful for the people around me who care. :)

songs like this cheer me up when i'm down.. :)
Jason Mraz's Life is Wonderful
It takes a crane to build a crane
It takes two floors to make a story
It takes an egg to make a hen
It takes a hen to make an egg
There is no end to what I'm saying
It takes a thought to make a word
And it takes some words to make an action
And it takes some work to make it work
It takes some good to make it hurt
It takes some bad for satisfaction
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la
It takes a night to make it dawn
And it takes a day to make you yawn brother
And it takes some old to make you young
It takes some cold to know the sun
It takes the one to have the other
And it takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is
And it takes some fears to make you trust
It takes those tears to make it rust
It takes the dust to have it polished
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la
It takes some silence to make sound
And it takes a loss before you found it
And it takes a road to go nowhere
It takes a toll to make you care
It takes a hole to make a mountain
Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la life is meaningful
Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la
It is so...wonderful...
It is so meaningful...

after four nights of the fireworks festival, i conclude that the bestest display was the one on friday by Team New Caledonia!! cos of all the unique fireworks like those that shot out of the water in multi-colours and the bright white ones that landed on the water surface and floated there like beautiful lights :) pretty pretty! it left me in awe :) and the music that accompanied the display was really good too, not like the music of Team France's display last night which made me quite deaf and irritated.
and i realise that it's good not to take any pictures/videos, cos you get to fully concentrate on the spectacle in front of you instead of diverting your eyes constantly to look at your camera screen.
---
back to reality, school starts tomorrow.. sadness.
i have just one lab tmr from 4 to 6. where the hell is CSD Lab 2 anws?? haha.
sigh. dunch want school to start :((( my mundane routine school life is back..

NDP'06!
(pardon the poor attempt to be artistic. hahaha. it's a huge and pretty star balloon which i so badly wanted to steal, btw) decked out in red and feeling all 'I Love Singapore'-y. for once. hahaha.
awwwww.. *pinches cheeks*
had sucky seats cos we were directly facing the grandstand and could only see the butts of performers most of the time... like this
(upside down 2006)
...but it was kinda a blessing in disguise after all, cos we could see the sunset, which was amazing as usual...
...and although we had to turn around and (in my case) tiptoe to see the fireworks, they were so near us that every spark seemed really big and the people sitting right behind us had to open up transparent umbrellas to shield themselves from the fireworks' debris. it was really an experience! :)
so yeah, a beautiful last national day parade at the national stadium :)
---
and just to let everybody (especially kl) know, yours truly is no longer supporting paul twohill for sg idol! although i can still imagine him fronting a rock band and doing a gig. i'm supporting hady and nurul! :D hee.
---
and just because i can't resist being evil and making people hungry while reading my blog in the middle of the night,
yummmm. the one i was eating halfway is cinammon-flavoured and it's really good. KrispyKremes are better but oh wells, these are good too!! :)))
doughnuts make me happy. lol. i think it's the sugar.
---
was looking through the stash of photos in my comp when i saw this Sabah picture.. loves it!! :)
taken by Mr chasiewbao :D
---
and yayness bidding's over!! :D i hope EL2101 will be as fun as nature of language! hee. core modules this sem seem damn boring :( WHY WHY STATS AGAIN WHY??? i miss biod and all that phylum and subphylum stuff already :( lol.
a rather disjointed post. hahaha. bleh. 4 more days to school. :((( i should start adjusting my body clock.

` 12:23 AM
Three little birds, sat on my window.
And they told me I don't need to worry.
Summer came like cinnamon
So sweet,
Little girls double-dutch on the concrete.
Maybe sometimes, we got it wrong, but it's alright
And nothing seems to change, and it all will stay the same.
Oh, don't you hesitate.
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.
Blue as the sky, sombre and lonely,
Sipping tea in the bar by the road side,
(just relax, just relax)
Don't you let those other boys fool you,
Gotta love that awful hairdo.
Maybe sometimes, we feel afraid, but it's alright
The more you stay the same, the more they seem to change.
Don't you think it's strange?
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.
Just more than I could take, pity for pity's sake
Some nights kept me awake, I thought that I was stronger
When you gonna realise, that you don't even have to try any longer.
Do what you want to.
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
Oh, You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.
Corinne Bailey Rae's Put Your Records On (love the lyrics! :))
for those who ain't too happy about life and the way things are, you're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.. :)

one day late, but happy birthday big brother! :) had some good ol' family fun the whole of yesterday. loves it :)
GAWD he's old. but then again, when i think about how the guys in uni are just 2 years younger than him, he isn't really very old anymore. haha.
