been holed up at home the past few days nursing a fever and a sore throat. the result: excessive bumming around, excessive sleeping, and excessive watching of soccer. it's time i get out of the house. it's a good time too, the streets are rid of kids cos school has started for them. wahahaha. *evil grin
i'm so tired of England playing safe and defensive all the time. stupid coach. i mean, they've got so much more potential than that! although i'm kinda still supporting them, i'm rooting for Spain to win the world cup! :D haha how fickle.
learnt parallel parking yesterday and today! ha. and i realised one thing. if i pass driving one day i'll never know how to park without poles. -____-
and i'm finally NOT lazy to post Sabah photos (actually it's cos i've finally compiled photos from 2 cameras) so yayy! here goes! :)
sunrise at Changi Airport.
city tour on the first day. quite boring. did a bit of shopping. the malls in Sabah all look like Queensway. haha. the building in the last pic is the tallest in Sabah. but then again there aren't any other buildings in Sabah! haha. it's a government building where most of the economy in the country comes from.
our dinner on the first night. live and fresh! yayyy to seafood!! :D (although i'm very much sick of it now.) i was appalled at how they were caught from their tanks. the lobsters were violent! haha.. so not only the fish in Sabah are violent.
Mt Kinabalu Park and Poring Hot Springs. i'm mad but i love nature trails. hehe. it's great exercise too. there! another excuse not to jog this week! hahaha.
the peak of Mt Kinabalu. yes i'm climbing that! who wants to come with me!!
cool fresh air and beautiful scenery. what makes a good holiday.
fresh pretty roses at a vegetable market!
my favourite day of the trip! :) Klias River cruise. more like a swamp. saw wild monkeys jumping around and pretty fireflies lighting up the trees at night and a small croc. crocs are so difficult to spot! me loves sunsets.
it is indeed. hee.. :)))
Sapi Island. hahaha shiqi looks damn cute in snorkelling gear. we couldn't stop laughing!
hahaha. we were bored during dinner in the hotel on our last day.
here's a first! i've never seen flatscreen TVs in hotel rooms before.. ha. ignore the clutter on the floor.
shall end with a picture of a pufferfish.
heh!
ohmygod the floor's shaking. stupid construction going on two houses away. grrrrr.
i'm going to bathe and then off to meet my girls! :D

back from Sabah! :) enjoyed myself a whole lot :) we snorkelled! and i got bitten by fish TWICE!! :S yikes. like wth right. violent carnivorous fishies the whole lot of them. and we saw fireflies which were really pretty :) they were like beautiful christmas lights hanging on trees. and we cruised down a swamp with crocodiles. woot. hahaha. and the whole Sabah trip seemed like a huge biod lesson, which was really fun. ha. okies shall stop typing whatever that's coming to my mind. haha. Sabah seemed like an unlikely place for a holiday at first, but when i was there i realised it was perfect.
the next time i go there i'm going to climb Mt Kinabalu :))) i'm serious.
too lazy to post photos. shall do that another time. for now it's rest and recuperation! lol.
oh! we managed to catch the World Cup matches after all :) they're frickin free-to-air in malaysia unlike singapore.

yayyyyyyy for England!! i was so happy i couldn't sleep. ha. so here's to the heroes of last night! :) (owen's in the collage cos he's my soccer hero always, lacklustre performance or not. hahaha)
add your smile at www.smiles2006.com! bao and i are on pages 12 and 17! hee.
i've found a new pastime. learning how to drive.. :D at first i thought i'd be damn scared. ya it's kinda scary sometimes, and you get horned by stupid people, and you get really buay tahan when lorries overtake you cos the instructor doesn't allow you to go beyond 50 km/h, but it's a whole lot of fun :) hehe.

my first driving experience. freaky but fun. it's kind of like playing Daytona, but 10 times slower. lol. the instructor didn't allow me to go pass 25 km/h the whole time. but hmmm. still quite scary. haha.
yeah world cup mania!! :) after these few days i've come to a conclusion. never underestimate the (supposedly) lousy teams. like Trinidad and Tobago on saturday against Sweden 0-0. and Australia just now. wah damn zai! came from 0-1 to beat Japan 3-1 in the last 8 minutes! i should be watching Czech vs USA now but i guess i'll skip it. too tired :(
bleh so disappointed in England.. :( hope they perform better in the next few matches!! hee. and i hope owen doesn't get sub-ed out again. boooo.

today was fun :) i realise i've began to really really treasure the times spent sitting down and just talking and talking with a friend, cos yeah, friends are forever right? :)
yayyy tomorrow i'm gonna see kl and shan shan in full Ritz Carlton formal wear! woot! should i bring camera?? hahaha.
i'm supporting jasmine tye for today's sg idol! cos she's pretty and she's my cousins' ex-schoolmate. hahaha. and ya she's one of the better singers too.

the initial plan of an afternoon of cycling was ruined by the rain, so we wound up in town finding things to do and in the end we watched
which was really hilarious and entertaining i couldn't stop laughing. haha. everybody needs a good laugh now and then! it was kinda sweet as well :) so yeah, am glad it rained. hahaha.
i'm all geared up for the world cup!! whee!
my soccer hero (besides my pro goalie boyf.. hee) since waaaaaay back in sec school :) i miss the times when he's still in his Liverpool jersey.
yeah it's pretty obvious which team i'm supporting for the world cup huh. haha.
ooh yes i bought teddy geiger's album! nice nice :) still can't imagine he's only 17 years old.
If I could dim the lights in the mall
And create a mood, I would
Shout out your name so it echos in every room
That's what I'd do, that's what I'd do
To get through to you
For you I will...

i woke up this morning listening to US top20 and Justin Ang was talking about the number 1 song exactly one year ago. then i started thinking about MY life exactly one year ago. couldn't really recall so i decided to read my archives. June 3rd 2005: my last day of work.
how time flies. look back and picture the life you had one year ago. look back and see how far you've gone.
i still remember how i so dreaded going to uni cos i didn't know what i was going to face. then i was so worried i'd be all alone when stupid ohm (hahaha) decided to go for tcm at NTU instead of life science in NUS with me. and then i was also worried uni would make me drift apart from old friends since everyone would be busy living their own lives. (or so i thought.) life was like, 'oh shit uni's starting i dunno what's in store for me'.
THEN i decided to be optimistic, thinking, hey maybe i'll enjoy this new chapter in my life..
and i sure did :) i made new friends that i know will be there, met up with old ones i still love, entered a relationship that's still going strong, and amidst all that, learnt many new lessons that i know i'll keep for life.
sometimes i wonder if it is better to live in the present and appreciate the little things that are right in front of you; rather than think so much about the future and what lies ahead (and worry about it in the process).
i'm thankful, cos life has been good to me so far. someone once told me, you're so easily satisfied with life. i replied, hmmmm what's wrong with that?

reading Mitch Albom's Tuesdays with Morrie.. hahaha like finally huh. super inspirational!

"who needs one hill when you've got two!" - a pla-card spotted during sg idol.
wahaha!! ahem now you know who i'm rooting for. hehe!
ok i should restrain myself and not get too obsessed with sg idol or else it'll be like the absolute mayhem during season 1 two years ago. lol. deja vu.
gohsinhui's off to France for a 1 month exchange programme! i'm so jealous.
oh no oh no think i'm having a slight flu :( or maybe i'm just too tired.
